LANCASTER HOUSE
LOCATION:
LINCOLN, LINCOLNSHIRE
CLIENT:
LINCOLNSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
STATUS:
COMPLETED 2017
PolkeyCollins worked closely with Lincolnshire County Council to redevelop an outdated 1970s office block.
The extensive refurbishment focused on bringing the office up to date with modern standards, technology and design. This involved stripping out the inefficient mechanical systems to allow for a completely new building system that utilised passive ventilation and a large reduction in excessive solar heat gain.
Modifications were made to the building’s elevations to create a more approachable and welcoming entrance.
The existing ribbon windows were replaced to provide a modern aesthetic whilst working with the proposed mechanical strategy.
The office layouts were reworked in line with the council’s requirements and modern office design. This focused on the productivity of each user and the team cooperation that is essential for efficiency. Break out spaces, standing work stations and open plan design were just some of the key principles that helped to shape the office space.
